Bullards Beach (05/29/2005)

We spent this week at Bullards Beach State Park in Oregon. This is a wonderful park: lots of sites, most large and very private, with a wonderful beach and lighthouse. Because of the Memorial Day holiday, the park was fully reserved although it never filled up, perhaps because of the storm that blew through here. We spent one day this week walking around Coos Bay. They have a nice tourist area (including a quilt fabric store and a bike shop - Rich had a flat tire on his bike). We spent another day walking around Bandon. They too have a nice tourist area (and a quilt store - Hurray for Quilters' Travel Companion). We spent one rainy day doing laundry and shopping - yuk. We spent one day at the beach; it was gorgeous, a little cool but lovely. There were lots of people fishing the surf and actually catching fish. (surf perch?) It has been a nice easy week. Next week we move a little north to Beverly Beach State Park.
