Spokane (6/26/2005)

We’ve spent most of this week in Spokane visiting Rich’s cousin Mike and his wife Ruthanne. Rich’s mother Georgia and her sister Emmalou were very close and raised their boys as brothers so Mike and Rich are very close. While we have been here Rich has been finishing the repairs to the 5th wheel that he started in Seattle. We want it to be in good shape for the trip to Alaska. It did not need a lot of work but more than we wanted to let slide. Max has been enjoying playing with 2 bigger dogs in a nice large yard. He has been cooped up or on a leash since Tucson. And I have been visiting and shopping with Ruthanne. We have been having a great time. The weather was nice long enough for us to get fooled into thinking it was going to last and then it changed on us. So much for the bike rides and the bucket of balls.
We will be leaving Spokane shortly and heading north to Canada. Since we will have to pay for internet access in Canada by the byte, I will not be posting to this blog until we leave Canada and get to Alaska. I will keep my journal going and will catch up when the price goes down.
My medical tests came out OK. My blood pressure was good. My right carotid is blocked by just a little less than where they begin treating, so for now we are going to watch it.
