Crystal River, Florida (01/01/2006)

Happy New Year!
This was a very quiet week for us. Bob was working on a project for his 5th Wheel, Connie was not feeling well (she had a cold), Rich was playing computer games, and I was lazing around the campground and getting a permanent. The campground is very busy now, almost all the sites are full with many people here for the Holiday weekend.
New Years Eve was a bright sunny day so we (Bob & Connie, and Rich, Sue & Max) took a drive south to Fort De Soto Park in Tampa Bay. It is on an island where Tampa Bay meets the Gulf of Mexico. It has a very nice campground (many sites back up to the beach) and great white sand beaches including one where dogs are allowed to run free. The humans walked the dog beach while Max and friends chased each other. We all had a great time, especially Max, who got to run and play with other dogs. As we were driving back we stopped at the beach in Clearwater, another beautiful white sand beach. After the beach at Clearwater, we went out for dinner and then came home for Champaign. None of us made it to Midnight, although I was awake about 2 minutes after midnight (Sandy called) and Rich was awake a minute later.
