On Tuesday we drove to Mount Dora to the “Quilting Friends” Quilt Shop (formally known as Quilts and Other Comforts). Until last year when the partnership separated, this shop published an awesome catalog. I had been receiving this catalog for many years while we were in Seattle, so I was looking forward to seeing the shop. Today there is a shop, an On-line presence, many classes, but no catalog. I spent about an hour in the shop, then we had lunch, and then we walked around the tourist area of Mount Dora which was very nice (lots of cool shops). Traveling to Mount Dora from Crystal River was very challenging as there is no easy direct route so we got lost both heading to Mount Dora when I was driving and Rich was navigating and returning home when Rich was driving and I was navigating. It is not unusual for me to get lost but Rich rarely gets lost.
This week I finished (and mailed) two of my existing quilting projects, and started a new one. The new one has a lot of hand work so I can take it with me on the cruise. Hopefully I will have some photos next week.
There is a group (63) of Casita’s (small [13-17 feet long] trailers) that just arrived here at the park for a rally. (note: 17 feet is half the size of our 5th wheel, and that does not include the extra width of our tip outs). It is hard to believe that the park had 63 vacant spots for them. They are so tiny. They call them eggs. One couple invited me in to look at theirs. It had everything (kitchen, bathroom, bedroom) but was very very small. Imagine the space wars! I guess you get used to what you get used to. One couple is traveling with a pair of big dogs. Reminds me of another couple in a small class C with a pair of big dogs (my sister traveling with us in Alaska).
I am publishing a little early this week since on Saturday we are leaving for a Caribbean cruise on the MS Veendam. We will leaving from Tampa and going to Georgetown, Grand Cayman; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Costa Mayo, Mexico; and then returning to Tampa. We will be taking the recovered camera with us so next week I hope to have some cool photos of the cruise.
