20060319 - Crystal River (We visit the Tampa Aquarium)

This week some of my friends left the park for home (winter seems to be ending) so I decided it was time to record the park for my Blog. First, I took photos of my sewing and knitting friends, then I took some photos of sites (empty and full) in the park, and then I took some photos of the park amenities.
Friday, we went to the Tampa Aquarium. It was a beautiful day. The aquarium was full of kids and teachers on field trips. We spent several hours walking through the exhibits. Many of the exhibits looked just like Juniper Springs (they even had the sweeper trees). After we saw the Florida spring exhibits, we went through the reef and shark exhibits. Very cool. After the aquarium, Rich wanted to tour the victory ship next door. He spent about an hour there, while I shopped for pins, etc. After that we took an 1.5 hour boat ride to see Tampa Bay and the wild dolphins that live in the bay. We rode around the bay looking at dredge islands which are now wildlife refuges (birds and fish) and learning about the bay. We saw a bonded pair of dolphin males. They were very curious and stayed around the boat for some time. It was very cool.
