20061217 - Tucson

Quilting: This week I took a class on how to make chenille. The class was fun. We each made a potholder out of flannel. I also finished working on the tops for the three other quilts for Quilters II: the Mystery Quilt, the Rail Fence, and the Nine Patch. I still plan to do the quilting for the Mystery Quilt on the Long Arm Machine but the Nine Patch is small enough that I plan to quilt it on a standard machine. The Rail Fence is finished.

The Nine Patch Quilt: Last summer Quilters II members cut various sizes of squares and strips of some of their fabric. As a result, to make this quilt all I had to do was go through the 3 ½ cut squares, pick the ones I wanted to use and sew them together. I wanted to make a Nine Patch Quilt and I wanted to be able to see the nine patches without using sashing so I alternated light and dark squares.

The House: We went out to Quail Creek to see the house again this week. The interior walls have all been textured and painted and most of the cabinets are in.
