Diabetic Neuropathy
Last week I had an appointment with a podiatrist. I have been experiencing some new pain in my feet. Apparently I have some neuropathy in my feet. I thought that that would mean lack of feeling. In my case, however, it is similar to Carpal Tunnel, except that it is in my ankles not my wrists. The diabetes causes my nerves to swell, the swelling nerves get pinched in the ankle tunnel (it probably has a real name but I don‘t know it), which then causes a burning sensation in my toes. The good news is that there some meds for it which may slow it down so that I do not have to have surgery to enlarge the tunnel.
House
We finished installing the master closet. Now we can begin unpacking more of the boxes in the garage. It is so nice to have a real closet with drawers and shelves.
Family
My sister Christine’s son Jason is expecting a baby in December. We are very excited for both Jason and his wife Maggie as well as for Christine and her husband Steve as it is their first grandchild. Two other nephews (Eric and Greg) are also expecting babies; one in August and another in December so our next generation is happening.
Quilting
I have been doing quite a bit of quilting. Not finishing anything yet but working on a lot of squares for various projects; baby quilts of course but also projects for the quilt group and classes. I will be starting a new class on Convergence Quilts later this month.
Cruise
We booked a 10 day Mediterranean Cruise for late August. We will going to Rome, Monte Carlo, Florence, Barcelona (hopefully I won’t get lost this time), Palma de Mallorca, La Goulette, Palermo, and Naples.
