20080418 - Survivor

I was going to start back reporting on our South America Trip, but I was so pissed about what happened on Survivor last night I decided to write about it instead. Survivor is one of our favorite TV Programs but after episodes like last night, I wonder why. In my brain I understand that it makes sense for the weaker players to band together and keep the stronger players on their team until the merge and then to vote them off as quick as possible. I understand it but I hate it, it just seems wrong to me. Part of me understands that this is a game where strategy is a major part of winning and blindsiding them to get rid of the strong players makes sense. Part of me still responds as if it were real life and represented the character of the players. I have seen what bringing the best (read least liked) player to the final can mean ($1,000,000). But using someone then discarding them because they are strong just drives me crazy, and gloating about it makes me see red. Cirie and Jason were just plain evil last night. In some ways Ozzie did it to himself not playing the idol, but that he had to still makes me mad. James, beware. Hopefully the rest of the players will see Cirie for what she is and vote her off soon, along with Parvati and Jason.

I partly agree. But I think Ozzie has been one of the worst offenders this season in terms of being cocky and gloating. And I don't think Jason was evil: if he didn't go along with Cirie's plan, he would have been gone. Jason is pretty dumb though, both for thinking the fake idol was real and for trusting the others when they said they wouldn't vote him off if he gave up on the immunity challenge.

If you thought last week was bad, you must have been livid after last night. All the girls are evil, except maybe Amanda. I didn't think anyone could be as dumb as Jason.
