We are on the road again. We left Portland this morning at 10:00am for Rogue River, (a little past Grant’s Pass). I love being able to blog as we drive. We had nice time in Portland. We got in a fair amount of visiting with my sisters during the week we spent here. Sandy, Chris and I designed and printed 'business cards' for our journey. It was a blast. Rich and I had a lovely Thanksgiving with my sister Sandy, her husband Dale, her daughter Rachel, Rachel’s husband Frank, their 2 year old daughter Lexie, Frank’s mother Betty, my sister Christine, her husband Steve, and their friend John.
I have been retired for 2 months now and last night I dreamed I was fired from my job. The people who had purchased the company decided to do something new with it and fired all of the IT staff. I was pretty upset in the dream. I'm not sure where that came from. Perhaps I finally believe we are retired.
Rich, Max and I are experiencing our own version of space wars. There is very little horizontal space in a 5th wheel. Rich an I both claim most of it for our own personal use - our space wars. On the other hand, Max believes that anything on any surface he can reach belongs to him to chew. So far he has claimed Rich’s wallet, including the ATM card, and all the cash, all slippers and shoes, the computer case, the brand new blanket, as well as his toys. Rich and I are gradually finding compromises on space use, although sometimes it gets a bit bumpy. In addition we are learning how to restrict Max’s access to some surfaces as well as where not to put things that matter.
We are also learning how to allocate personal alone time. Rich gets up and goes to bed early (a holdover from working 4:00am to 12:00pm), while I am generally the late riser. After he goes to bed, I piddle around putting things away, organizing for the next day etc. I am not sure what he does in his morning time besides walking Max but the one day I got up before him I discovered that I had invaded his personal time and space. Now I have a real reason to sleep in.

You're still having work stress dreams. That doesn't jive with beleiving your retired. Give it a few more months at least. I knew there were going to be space wars. We discussed this. I'll be interested to know when these settle down. As you know I would be having space wars with myself in these circustances. Prefer to travel with two of those prefab house halfs --> the trucks driving rigt next to each other in perfect synchrony. Then I could get away from myself once in a while. -- Steve
It was great having you three of you at Thanksgiving. Frank says sorry about the bad throw. We love to read your blog. Keep us posted. Mom said you got the hit-and-run drivers liscense plate? I hope the rest is smooth sailing. Can you post pictures to this site? We'd love to see some.
