Quail Creek - Norris New House
Today we signed a contract for a new house in Quail Creek. Signed a contract meaning we are buying a house, but as of now we just have a contract. Quail Creek is a Robson Active Adult Resort Community outside Tucson. It is located in Sahuarita which is about 25 miles south of Tucson and about 36 miles north of the Mexican border. We selected a lot, decided on a house floor plan, signed the contract, signed an earnest money check and locked in a price. The next step, in November, is to select the upgrades, the carpeting, the cabinets, etc., etc. Then the house will be built ( approximately 10 months). One of the things we liked about this whole deal is the time line. We can lock in the price at today’s market, continue with the plan to travel for 2 years and have a new house when are ready to settle down again. We will have to fly back to Tucson in November and perhaps another time before the house is complete. A year ago when Rich first started looking at a place for us to settle, he like Quail Creek and thought the Laredo house plan would work for us. And he was right. The Laredo has all the space we want without the wasted space of many of the current houses on the market. It has a nice great room, a super master suite, a separate guest house, a den, and a quilt room. The community has wonderful amenities: golf courses, tennis courts, swimming pools, fitness room, aerobics room, sewing and quilting groups and ceramics rooms. The area has great birding and walking, so I expect to have family visitors after we move in. Now we will stop looking at houses and start doing tourist things here in Tucson. The pictures came out in a funny order: Max was groomed on Tuesday, and we visited Quail Creek, signed the contract, and photographed the model on Wednesday.
