Last week I mentioned that the Florida Visitor Centers were actually open. One of the cool things they have had at the 2 Visitor Centers we have seen so far are large Blue Angel planes on pedestals looking like they are in flight. Also last week I mentioned being transported back to Alaska by seeing the white sand beaches. It was pretty startling. This week while we were driving we saw long empty beaches: one beach with only 2 brown pelicans, one on the ground and one skimming along just above the waves; another beach with a pair of heron. In addition we saw many houses on stilts along side of the road. This must be a way to withstand a big storm.
Florida so far, has had several perils for puppies. At the first park in Florida we ran into grass with stickers. The Park wanted me to walk Max on the grass but every few steps Max would be hopping along with a sticker in a paw. The same thing happened at the beach across the street from our second park in Florida. Max figured out pretty quickly not to walk on the grass. In addition, at the second park Max had Ticks. I was looking him over and saw a dozen in his hair. Luckily only three had attached but even that was three too many. We tried to get them all, (both attached and running around) but today I found 3 more, all attached to his face. We don’t know if they are new (came from our new park) or are old ones I did not find.
We are now in our new Home Park for next 4 months:
