Gilroy (12/26/2004)

Hope you are having nice holidays, reader.
We spent most of this week in Gilroy (the garlic capital of the world). We stayed at the Garlic Farm RV Resort. We chose Gilroy because it was central to the San Francisco and Monterrey Bay areas. Spent 1 beautiful day in Monterrey: visited the Pier, Cannery Row (It's not Steinbeck's Cannery Row anymore), and the Aquarium. Max even got to run on the beach. Spent 1 day driving the 17 mile road at Pebble Beach and walking through Carmel. I expected to see grand homes, like castles, on the 17 mile road but I did not expect to see wonderful beaches with great waves and a very restless sea or wonderful old trees. We are getting better at this tourist stuff, took the camera but it had dead batteries so still no pictures. It's 1 step at a time for us. Spent 1 day waiting for the Dish guy, we still didn't have that right. Turned out to be a simple problem, the dish gave us the wrong coordinates. With the correct numbers it worked like a charm. Spent Christmas in the SF Bay area with Rich's mom Georgia, his brother Ken and Ken's wife Tina and Ken's girls Stacey & Jon (her husband), and Christine & Daryn (her husband). A very nice warm christmas .
As to the space wars, Rich and I getting better at this sharing of small spaces. Now most things have homes and at least one of us knows where the home is. Max, on the other hand, still believes if he can reach it, it's his. Hopefully, as he leaves puppyhood (soon please) he will lose this need to chew and chase.
Today it's time for laundry and packing since tomorrow we leave for San Simeon and Hearst Castle. Talk at you soon.
