Well, we are in the house. Not really IN, but in. On the 14th we signed all the papers and went into serious debt. On the 15th we checked out of Voyager, drove to the new house and began the process of moving in. For a small house, the RV carried a lot of stuff. We carried it from one house to the other all day long and were still a long way from done. Unfortunately, we are not allowed to park a RV on the street here after 7:00pm, so Rich had to move the rig and walk back to the house. Next morning he walked back to the vehicle and drove it back. We moved the stuff and cleaned the RV until 2:00pm and then Rich drove the RV to the storage facility. With all that moving, nothing was put away and still today there is a lot not where it belongs. Also on the 15th some of our new furniture was delivered. So, all in all, the house is beginning to be home. Most of the rooms are still both empty and full. Empty of furniture, but full of bags.
The bedroom has a bed, a big bed, mind you, but still just a bed. It is so tall that I have to lay on it to get in it. Max cannot jump high enough to get on it. It is a king, so there is plenty of room for the three of us. (The queen did not have enough room for Max, he likes to sleep sideways between Rich and me.) There are no tables and no lights and a sheet on the window. The closet has a shelf but no drawers so we currently have no place to put socks or underwear.
The Great Room has a sofa, loveseat, and chair but no shelves, tables or drawers to put anything in or on. Once again we have bags of books and things waiting for a home. We do, however, have a TV on a chair.
The Office has a hammock and a TV table with the computer. The first day I had to lay on the floor to work on the computer so this is an improvement. Without desks or storage, this room is another mess.
My Quilt Room also has it’s share of bags. All the fabric I bought on our travels is stacked around the floor. Also my sewing machine and quilting equipment.
The good rooms are the Casita and the Kitchen. The kitchen had it’s own cabinets which we are filling as quickly as we can. It is lovely to have a full sized kitchen again, especially the fridge and freezer. We also have a table and chairs so the kitchen really is in good shape.
The Casita has a queen bed and armoire. We did not have a guest room in the RV so we do not have a lot of stuff to put away in there. We still need to get linens and such for the Casita but at least we do not have a lot to put away in there.
We want to paint the interior so that is the next big task here as well as finding and purchasing the rest of the furniture.
This has been a very up and down week for me - one of mixed feelings; excitement about moving into the new house and starting our new life. And sadness about leaving the many friends I have made a Voyager.

Congratulations on the new house, finally! What colors are you going to paint? Check out books by Susan Sargent for inspiration.
