This week we got the following info from one of our neighbors. I have been concerned about Max since we moved here. Since rattlers were here before we were, the fire department recommends that you put your dog through aversion training but I have not found it offered here yet. Max is so curious and unafraid he also would have the fang marks on his nose.
For Your Information: a small dog who lives on the other side of our green belt (across Orinda wash area on Wintergreen) was bitten by a rattler this week. The dog survived but there were fang marks in its nose! The snake was not found. So a word of warning - be alert for snakes, they can come visit your yard!!
I have seen lots of birds but the only ones I can identify are the Roadrunner I saw running up the middle of the road and the Quail I see periodically running through our neighbors yards. Perhaps after my sisters visit I will be better informed.
