I’ve been thinking - Monsoons
Wednesday night we experienced our first Monsoon. It rained like a son-of-a-gun, but the next morning everything was completely dry. With all the gravel there is not much evidence of the rain. Thursday I just could not get the weather straight. I spent the afternoon working on quilts at the clubhouse. When I was ready to leave I heard thunder so I decided to leave my things there so as to not get wet. It was not raining. After I got home, since it was not raining, I decided to go back and get my stuff but then it started to pour so I ended up getting wet anyway. In the evening it was just barely raining, so I took Max out to get the mail. As soon as we got to the mailbox it started to really come down. By the time we got home Max and I were drenched. Rich was standing outside under the eaves laughing at his drowned rats family. Since then we have seen lightening, heard thunder but no rain here in Quail Creek. We keep thinking it’s coming but it does not get here. It is supposed to rain this week. We’ll see. After Seattle it is amazing to me how much I am looking forward to monsoons.
