20071209 - I’ve been thinking - Technology

About a month ago we had visitors in the Casita, the Singing Quilter and her husband. They gave me one of their CDs as a thank you gift and I bought the other three. On our drive to Seattle, when I was driving we listened to the CDs and I loved them. I listened, I laughed, and I cried. Many of the songs tell a story. Most of them are somehow related to quilting. Many are funny, some are glorious, and some are sad. I decided that it would be wonderful to share them with my quilting group by listening to them during one of our work sessions. But, we do not own a CD Boombox, just personal CD Players. So I asked Rich for one for Christmas. And being a helpful wife, I started looking for one that he could buy me. Guess what. I couldn’t find one. It’s old technology! What they have now in the stores are iPods and MP3 docking stations on Boomboxes, not CD players. The kid at the store (who has kids) told me that the CD player boom boxes are for little kids (play radios and cars, etc.), as the adults now have iPods or MP3 players. When did I get to be so behind the times. I am still hoping to find one, even looked on the internet although it was a little hard for me to tell what was what. I’ll let you know what we find.

Why don't you copy the cd to your computer and then to your mp3 player? Then buy a mp3 player docking station with a speaker? You'll be right up with the latest technology.
