20080114 - Max

While we were gone, Max had his own adventures. As usual we hired someone to come in twice a day to feed, walk, and play with Max. Sometimes they would let Max out in the back yard to play outside. Well on January 1st, Max discovered how to squeeze out through the back gate. The babysitter let him out, left the back slider open, and left. Max got loose. Neighbor 1 saw him in the street and called neighbor 2. Neighbor 2 tried to get him but he would not come to her. She got her husband out of bed and he was able to catch Max with the promise of a treat. He took Max through the back yard and into the house. Neighbor 1 called the babysitter to tell them what had happened.

In addition to this excitement, the babysitter told us that Max had not done well during the first 2 weeks. He was not eating or pooping up to snuff. And the neighbors told him that they could hear Max crying at night. So he took Max to his house for the rest of the time. They have 2 dogs and the three seemed to get along great so Max spent the second 2 weeks eating and playing and generally having a great time. Looks like we need to farm Max out when we leave him in the future. He is just a social guy.
