20080718 - TV - Greatest American Dog

We started watching the Greatest American Dog because well with Max in the family, how could we not. I was a little disappointed the first week because with the title GREATEST, I thought these dogs would be something very special, very well trained and with some especially significant gift. That does not seem to be the case. In fact, in some cases, the dogs are not well trained at all and only a couple seem to have unique gifts. I was very disappointed that first week not only were the dogs not what I expected but the dog in the pair sent home seemed to me to be both cute and fairly well trained. I was so disappointed to see him go home that I decided not to watch the show again. As I watched it this week (I changed my mind) I realized that what the judges are looking at is not so much the dog but the relationship between the dog and the owner. Each owner claims to feel very strongly about their dog. I still do not know if I will watch again but,,, I am starting to be curious about the individual competitors. I do think the show has a bad title, though I could not find a better one. Who would watch “The Greatest American Dog/Human Team”?
